Subject: Review of P.N. No. 46/2020 dated 07.04.2020 : Procedure for assessment in cases of non- submission of Original Country of Origin Certificates

Dear Member,

The Council would like to inform that the N.C.H. (Nhava Sheva) has issued a Public Notice No.60/2020 dated 23^rd April, 2020 on the above subject.

In this regard please be informed of the following:

a. JNCH had issued Public Notice No. 46/2020 dated 7^th April, 2020 informing that Importers are required to submit proper Bond on or before 7^th May, 2020;

b. Subsequently as per CBIC’s Circular No. 21/2020-Customs dated 21^st April, 2020, it was decided to further extend the facility of accepting undertaking in lieu of Bond for the period till 15^th May, 2020.;

Consequently, the date of submission of proper bond in lieu of which the undertaking is being temporarily accepted is extended till 30^th May2020. In addition to submission of undertaking inlieu of Bond through registered email of the IEC holder or their authorised Customs Broker, the said undertaking must be uploaded on eSanchit.

With the exception of the above, all other conditions mentioned in Public Notice No. 46/2020 dated 07.04.2020 stand unaltered.
